OCIO is not an open industry association. Membership is offered exclusively to "in the seat" IT practitioners by invitation only. Our membership groups accommodate director to C-level practitioners and require a prospect/initiate phase where endorsement must be earned from existing members. All prospective members (prospects) must attend at least two meetings prior to submitting for membership.
We seek members who are able to commit to our cause and understand the value of developing self, community, and thought leadership in a trusted peer environment.
The Office of the CIO was founded by in 2002 by Dean Lane with the help of trusted CIO associates. As an advisor, Dean continues to contribute his leadership and wisdom gained as a US Navy Officer (Capt. 0-6), Chief Information Officer, internationally published author, and dedicated community builder. Dean also operates a professional services organization under the Office of the CIO name (http://www.oocio.com).
